*Split a line when you want to deliver part of it differently — for example ship part now and part*  
*later, or confirm part at a different date or price. Splitting turns one line into two so you can*  
*treat each part separately.*

You split lines on the confirmation screen. Open the order and press **Create confirmation** or  
**Update confirmation** first.

#### Split a line

- On the confirmation screen, find the line you want to split;
- In its **Actions** dropdown, choose **Split**;
- The **Split quantity** dialog opens, showing the original quantity;
- In **Original line quantity**, enter the quantity for the first part;
- The **Split line quantity** (the second part) is calculated for you automatically;
- Press **Split**.

The line is divided into two:

- the original line keeps the first quantity and gets the status **Changed**;
- a new line is created for the remaining quantity with the status **Added**.

You can now give each part its own delivery date or price before you send the confirmation.


*Note:* You can only split a line when its confirmed quantity is more than 1.
